Signed Off

We have finished the basement, except for a few little details and it is coming up on year since we got the permit.  We didn't want to have to deal with getting an extension, so Lee called for the final inspection.  They didn't mind that we still need to get carpet, etc.

Lee put most of the tools away in the shop and the ones we still need are stuck in closets or the equipment room.  It looks pretty good. Except for the fact that most of the flooring is paint-splattered concrete.

Didn't matter.  We passed and now we only have to worry about which carpet to buy.  Oh, not that one.  Too expensive.

Then we need to get furniture.  Putting my sister-in-law on the job is not working.  To be fair to Jane, I have looked at the pictures on the estatesales.net site and haven't found what I want her to go and buy. So no furniture, besides the dresser she already got for us.  Lee and I might go looking in Bedford or Lynchburg, two nearby cities with antique shops that we haven't been to in quite a while.

I, at least, need a couple of side tables for the bedroom.  Then I can just buy a bed and wait for the perfect headboard.  Gotta get a couple of chairs and then we are good for family visits.  No way close enough to start thinking about a B&B.  But I am.

  1. I've been catching up on blogs! Congratulations on the permit!!!
The vanity and sink are amazing!! LOVE both of them.

We really enjoyed our day over in Farmville looking at furniture. Great prices for good quality things. But be prepared to spend the whole day and wear comfortable shoes!
